MOUNTAIN BIKING

Good news for mountain bikers . . .

MOUNTAIN BIKING. . . the 1SW bid to encourage more people to cycle off-road across the South West, benefiting their health and well being, was approved in October by the South West Regional Development Agency.
The immediate effect of this is the first stage – a web based mapping tool to allow off road cyclists to plan routes better.  For further information go to http://1sw.org.uk/
You can also plan your route with an Ordnance Survey Explorer 140 map.  Choose from the myriad of Bridleways and Restricted Byways on the Quantocks.  It’s also worth keeping a look out for Quantock stories in Mountain Bike magazines.

Mountain bikers are required by law to give way to walkers and horse riders and cycling is not permitted on Public Footpaths.  The hills get very busy at the weekends so please always cycle with care.
