Experience the ‘wild’ hills on horseback
Some say the best way to see the wonderful wildlife around you is to see it on horseback. See red deer, buzzards soaring on the thermals, and hear the huge diversity of birdlife along the wooded trails.
Get hold of an Ordnance Survey Explorer 140 map, for a detailed look at the myriad of bridleways and restricted byways you can use.
Lydeard Hill and Staple Plain have car parks that are large enough for a horse box if you are travelling.
If you come across any paths that are blocked or unusable please let us know on 01823 451884
