Quantock Hills. An Area of Outstanding Beauty

Local legend has it that, when you are on the Quantocks, you are never more than 1.7 miles away from a pub and the same applies to good hostelleries and food outlets.  The Quantocks enjoy a wide range of locally sourced food and drink, from hill farm meat to hand made chocolates and cheeses, from apple juice to scrumpy.  Below are a few links to get you started and a list of the local farmers markets where most items can be bought:

FARMERS MARKETS:

Bridgwater:      2nd Friday every month 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. There are on average 10 stalls.
Cotford St Luke:  First Saturday of the month, every month @ the village hall.  There’s also a Quality Goods and Crafts Fair, offering a range of products including pottery, cards, alternative
                health, jewellery, crystals, books for all ages, organic hand and body washes and creams, baskets, hand knitted toys and much more. Open from 9:00 - 1:00.
Taunton:        Every Thursday 9am-3pm. On average there are 15-20 stalls
Wellington:      On the 3rd Saturday of each month 9am - 1pm. Locally grown food, drink and produce in the Heart of Somerset. On average there are around 5 stalls.
Minehead:      Great market which is now weekly, every Friday from 0830 to 1400. It is in the centre of town, in The Parade, and you will find a wide range of local produce.
